ANA3D is an integrated analysis tool to be used with Astera thin section grinder GRN16. Theanalysis tool consist of an integrated camera microscope installed inside the grinder, acontrol software in the grinder and an analysis software in a separate computer to finalizethe analysis.
The tool is to be used to analyze geological sample internal structure by slicing the sampleand photographing each slice. Finally the analysis software will compile the photos andcreate a three dimensional model of the internal structure of the sample. The slicing andphotographing process is fully automated and there is no need to move the sample from thegrinder during the process. The slice thickness is freely adjustable from a few micronsupwards. The maximum sample size is limited to 50 mm in diameter and 50 mm in height.
